Question by jyummy: Is bartering for sex legally the same as paying money for sex?

For example, I know I would be arrested if I paid a prostitute for a service. But what if I gave the prostitute a couple of CDs in exchange for the service? Is this still illegal?
O.K. So what if a person exchanges a service, like lawncare, for the physical service. Does this make a difference?

Barter implies an exchange of goods. Since the prostitute is exchanging service instead of goods, the goods you give her will be considered payment. It will not fall under what is legally construed as barter.
